Where is Tressell Ward?

Tressell Ward is a council administrative division for the Borough of Hastings, East Sussex, UK.  The town is divided into 16 such wards, each represented by two Borough councillors.  For more information, visit the Hastings Borough Council website.

Tressell Ward is named after Robert Tressell, Edwardian socialist and writer of ‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’, an autobiographical novel based on his life as a painter and decorator in Hastings (which he calls ‘Mugsborough’ in the book).  To find out more about Tressell, click on the banner.  You can download the book free from the Project Gutenberg website., or you can buy the special centenary edition published by Hastings Council at the Tourist Information Centre on Hastings Seafront.
